Dr. Khoo Boo Kian’s Skills

Dr Khoo Boo Kian is the director of Eye Specialist Clinic Pte Ltd. He established the clinic since 2002 and is very experienced in treating children and adults. He is one of the most well-respected paediatric ophthalmologists in Singapore and has been successfully treating childhood myopia for more than 10 years.

He trained and refined his cataract surgery and general ophthalmology (e.g. diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma etc.) at high volume in Singapore National Eye Centre and Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 1989. He did his fellowship for paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children and Moorfield Eye Hospital Strabismus Service in 1996-1997. He was the founder-director of the Lions National Glaucoma Eye Screening Program and I has extensive glaucoma experience. He is also fully trained and competent in all surgical aspects of ophthalmology as he spent many years in a general ophthalmology department practicing all subspecialties including Oculoplastic Retina, Cornea and Paediatrics. This comprehensive training gives him confidence in handling complicated eye problems alone as well as handling any complications that might arise in the middle of surgery.
